South Beach Hamburger Kebabs

Grumpy and I have been following the South Beach Diet for the last week.  We did this before we got married and it worked pretty well for us.  Lately we both have felt like it was time to get rid of the excess baggage we had collected over the last year.  So, to inspire me, I started searching through Kalyn’s Kitchen and bookmarking recipes that I wanted to try.  Kalyn has an abundant number of South Beach Diet friendly recipes on her site!

As soon as I saw the recipe for Hamburger Kebabs I knew I would be making it.  I am always looking for recipes that use ground meat – so I can substitute the ground venison we have in our freezer for the ground meat in the recipe!

In Kalyn’s post she said the next time she made this recipe she would use her food processor to make sure all the ingredients were well incorporated – so I used my food processor.  I was a little wary at first about the pine-nuts (or any nut) in this recipe but I put them in anyway.

This was a great recipe to “change up” our eating this week.  I hate getting in the same old rut when dieting and all you end up eating is salad and chicken.  If you would like the recipe to try these kebabs out for yourself, you can find it by clicking HERE and visiting Kalyn’s site.

I love the South Beach way of eating. Healthy carbs, healthy fats, plenty of lean proteins, veggies and fruits….what's not to like!

Kalyn's blog is a virtual encyclopedia of information on the South Beach Diet and one I visit regularly for new ideas and recipes.

Keeping boredom at bay is crucial to the success of any diet or eating program.

Can't wait to try this recipe!

Another great idea Shelby! Keep em coming! Just had to start a gluten-free diet (bummer) so this is perfect!

This looks really good, though I'd be tempted to try it with ground turkey, because beef isn't my favorite and I don't think anything beats a turkey burger with red onion, green apple and cheddar…except maybe carbs :) Good luck with South Beach!
