Thrills of the day...and I wouldn't change a thing. HoneyB rambles.

Welcome to my home....

It's not much but is a place to lay my head at night and its in the middle of nowhere - where I can obtain some peace and quiet.  We wish it were in better shape and a little bigger but for now, its home.

My rhubarb.  Can you believe this little plant is giving me such joy?  Grumpy laughs at me because I go out back to check on the one surviving plant my dad planted for me last year.  I read on my friend Debbie's facebook yesterday that her rhubarb is taller than mine.  I'm jealous.  She is just down the road from me....maybe I'll visit her rhubarb patch.  ;o)
I want pie.  Rhubarb to be exact.....

I want Custard Bars.  Rhubarb to be exact.

I want lilacs in my back yard.  It means new life and that summer is coming.

I'm very happy that my new vanity and mirror are in.  The bathroom is coming along...this is only a slight glimpse.
Pretend you don't see that toilet paper on the floor there.  :)

Who's that girl?  ;o) She's happy, thats for sure.  That is also what she looks like almost every night as she takes photos of her food.  She sure is glad Grumpy's over that now.  He now will say "aren't you going to take a photo of that?" when she is too tired to think about doing it.

That girl is happy.  Happy that her hubby is such a good hubby (albeit Grumpy at times!) and that her children are healthy and happy.  She is really really happy that as she was driving home today she met her son Chris on the road.  When he saw her, he turned right around and headed towards her, so she pulled to the side of the road to get a hug from her son.  On the side of the road in Pyrites NY.  She got about 4 good hugs before they got back in their respective cars and headed in opposite directions.

I'm a really lucky happy girl today....because I am loved by those who mean the most to me.  My family.

That's SO SWEET! You look about 32in that picture which means you must have been 16 when you had him! LOL! I think your house looks perfect. I love the big trees lining the driveway. I long to have that one day instead of these subdivisions. I have never grown rhubarb. I think that's more of a northern thing b/c my husband's family use to make the pies all the time, and they're from CT. It's pretty growing though (I've never seen a photo of one actually growing! Getting my education a little late) Love the shade of blue in your bathroom! Carolina blue, perhaps?! :O)

Rhubarb!! How funny, my sister and mom were just talking about it on Facebook as well! I think that's a sign for me to bake with some. I love it.

Your home looks great, I love the 2 story, big land kind of home.

To be a little cliche, "Home is where the heart is" and it is no better illustrated here.

Is it okay to cry at work??? Nothing better in this world than hugs from your kids....at least in my opinion. I grow (try to) herbs. my neighbor grows the veggies and I'm waiting to get some of his rhubarb. He said it should be ready in a week or so.

Thanks for sharing!

awww what a great post Shelby! Love and family always feels so nice.

PS:I've never tried rhubarb before. Must be an east coast thing?

This is such a lovely post and so filled with love! I too am thankful for my sometimes-Grumpy Honeybunch and my sons who, though they often drive me crazy are still wonderful! And rhubarb! Rhubarb! I just posted a rhubarb berry crumble and am now craving more rhubarb recipes! Delish!

I just loved seeing your photos and reading about your day and your home.

Hugs are the best!

I miss having rhubarb growing in the back yard. My grandmother use to make the best jam with rhubarb and strawberries.

What a sweet post. I love that your son pulled over to give you hugs. The tree lined driveway up to your home is beautiful too.

I pretty much am sitting here with pure jealousy. Your house with that long drive, beautiful trees etc is exactly what we want someday. Lucky

Aw, I love your house! It is perfect. The driveway lined with trees and plenty of open land. Perfect! The custard bars look to die for! And, your son...I hope my son grows up to be just like that.

LOL, Grumpy's a pain in the butt but I love him too and I wouldn't trade him for anyone!!!

Tardevil, I LOVE YOU. You just told me I look younger than Grumpy IS! he he.

Ladies, looks can be deceiving. That place looks like a nice little cozy home but it has so much that needs to be done that will cost us more than we want to spend to fix it....but, if we are stuck there then so be it and I will make the best of it! At least my bathroom is going to look nice. I just can't really entertain company in there though can I! ;)

Family is everything Shelby...you are so right. Your home and property are lovely even though you say your house needs work. Good job on the bathroom. It's always nice to update your home. And how sweet with your son.....I bet it made your day and his. Oh, I love Grumpy's comment too.

So glad your happy. You had a tough stretch for a while there. I'm just a little bit jealous of that rhubarb plant.
