Why You'll LoveThis Chewy M&M Cookies Recipe
Crispy edges chewy centers: the edges set just enough in the oven, creating contrast against the chewy center.
Easy recipe: One bowl for wet ingredients and one for dry keeps prep simple and familiar.
Holiday ready: Red, white, and blue M&M's make these perfect for patriotic celebrations, though any colors work just as well.

Key Ingredients for Chewy Cookies
See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and instructions.
- Butter: creates rich flavor and helps the cookies spread just enough to form crisp edges.
- Brown sugar: keeps the centers chewy and adds depth that plain sugar can't provide.
- Egg: binds the dough and gives the cookies structure without making them cakey.
- M&M Candies: add color, chocolate, and a bit of crunch, making these cookies festive and familiar.
Variations on Chewy M&M Cookies
- Browned Butter: brown the butter first, cool slightly, and proceed as written for a deeper flavor.
- Pretzel crunch: fold in ½ cup chopped pretzels for a salty contrast.
- Chocolate boost: add ½ cup chocolate chips alongside the M&M's.

Top Tips for the Best Chewy Cookie Texture
- Pull cookies when centers still look soft; they finish setting on the pan.
- Space dough balls evenly so edges crisp without merging.
- Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
