5 Top Tips for Staying Happy may seem like an oxymoron coming from Grumpy’s Honeybunch! As I typed that first sentence I couldn’t help but smile. Grumpy and I have been together for 17 years now and while everyday isn’t a bed of roses, it certainly hasn’t been a life of misery either. So, go grab a hot (or iced) cup of Bigelow Benefits Tea, pull up a chair, and read on to find out how we stay happy in a grumpy household!
When Grumpy and I were in the beginning year of our relationship, one comment he made to me rings through my ears often. When I was making breakfast one morning, he blurted out that he had never met anyone so chipper in the morning as I was! What a surprise that was to me. It was normal for me to wake up and be happy. After all, I didn’t have anything to not be happy about!
It didn’t take long into our relationship for me to start calling him Grumpy either! As a matter of fact, his persona is what attracted me to him the most. He seemed like a person that needed cheering up and I felt this strong need to make him smile. Obviously, I must have made him smile because our relationship never ended, it just grew and is going strong still!
Being happy can sometimes be a hard feat to accomplish. I do everything in my power to try and be that way. Including food and beverages that tastes good and that are designed to support clean eating and a healthy lifestyle is the preferred way for us to follow. This is why I fell in love with Bigelow Tea’s new products created to specifically promote the same. The all natural good for you ingredients in this tea will make you want to enjoy them no matter what time of the day it is. That being said, I want to share with you other things that I do to help keep a happy and healthy home atmosphere in the Grumpy House!
My 5 Top Tips for Staying Happy
1. Think positive.
The power of positive thinking is not a myth. Keep your mind on the positive things of life and tell yourself that things are going to be ok! Sometimes you may have to work a little harder, but in my experience, positive thinking really does help.
2. Surround yourself with people and things that you love.
My mom always told me to make friends with people you admire and aspire to learn what you love about them and put it into effect in your own life. We all know that my Nanny and my Mom are my inspiration. To be told that I remind anyone of either of them to me is the best compliment I could ever receive. As for me, there are two things I love to do. I love to cook and I love to cuddle with my Rotten Rudy Rut-ton. Sitting and cuddling with my fur baby makes me feel good and cooking and sharing food that is not only beautiful, but tasty and healthy makes me feel wonderful!
3. You are what you eat.
This is so true. What you put in your body really does reflect on who you are and how you feel. This is why I love to enjoy a hot or cold glass of Bigelow Tea to relax or refresh! My favorite fruit flavor is blueberry, and I have completely fallen in love with their Blueberry and Aloe Herbal Tea. Cinnamon and Blackberry and Chocolate and Almond are two more flavors that are some of my favorites! With awesome tea flavors like these, you can’t help but be in a happy, good mood!
4. Enjoy life.
Take time to do something you enjoy. Either by yourself, or with someone you love! Last summer Grumpy and I decided we were going to take at least one weekend day every other week and go do something together that made us happy. Spending time in nature is one of those ways we are happy. The beauty of the outdoors just gives that peaceful feeling.
5. Make time for exercise.
Getting out and exercising is not always that easy to do. The only way it is done here in our home is by making the time to do it. It may mean giving up watching a certain tv show, or sleeping in a little longer. For us, the end result from a hike in the woods and the absolute feeling of euphoria when we are done makes the exercise well worth it. “I feel terrible” said no one ever after getting in a good walk with plenty of oxygen! Hint: You can make iced tea with Bigelow Turmeric Chili Matcha Green Tea and take it with you to rejuvenate!
As you can see, being happy and living a well balanced life might take a little effort to fit in the time, but with a little bit of effort, but if you take that time and put forth the effort, you will not regret it. Anyone can follow these tips and be successful in staying happy. Try incorporating these teas into your daily routines to assist in promoting that healthy and balanced lifestyle!
Bigelow Benefits offers 6 herbal and 1 green tea and I found my teas while shopping at my local Shoprite!
