Grumpy’s Honeybunch is a recipe website devoted to creating easy and delicious Keto Recipes for a Picky Eater! Being an empty nester, she also likes to create recipes for two to keep variety in their meals.

This website is not just about the recipes. It is about the love of a wife for her husband and her desire to keep him healthy! Phil, otherwise known as Grumpy, developed Type 2 diabetes in 2010. I tried back then to do what I thought was the “right” thing and started making sugar free recipes. Little did I know that I was doing it all wrong!

Who is Grumpy’s Honeybunch?

Back in 2007 when I started writing this website, I titled it Grumpy’s Honeybunch because that is who I felt I was, and who I still am. I’m devoted to my husband and I love him completely. So, when I found out about the Keto diet in 2017, and that it was something that could improve Grumpy’s health, I knew then and there it needed to be a lifestyle change for the both of us.

How can a Keto Diet work for a picky eater?

I quickly adapted to the Keto Diet, where Grumpy did not. He hated anything remotely bread-like that I made unless it was sweet. I felt helpless. You can’t force a finicky eater to like something. I didn’t know what to do, so I did what I could and fed him as healthy as possible without doing Keto.

His meds kept increasing and his A1C seemed to be all over the board. Over the holidays in 2018, things came to a head and he realized that his health was in jeopardy. He agreed to follow the Keto Diet and I went to work finding ways to feed him that would make him happy and satisfied and work his way toward better health.

Creating Keto Recipes for better health!

Today, he is listening to what I tell him, and either he is sucking it up and doing it, knowing he needs to be healthy, or he actually is beginning to enjoy it!

Why do you still share non-keto recipes?

Because this blog was started back in 2007, I have several years of delicious, non-keto recipes. Not everyone follows the Keto diet, so I continue to share all of my recipes. Some of these recipes are on the low calorie, low-fat side, as well as the indulgent side.

I also love to bake treats for my family, so I will still be creating and sharing non-keto recipes. I hope you will stay no matter what the case may be and enjoy what you see!
